This Health and Safety Policy Statement has been prepared and issued under the authority of the Managing Director of GRAIL. It provides the framework for achieving compliance and for dis-charging the Company’s statutory duties and obligations to employees and others who interact in any manner with the Company.
In this respect, the Company aims to:
Ensure their health safety and welfare
Promote and maintain their physical, mental and social well-being
Prevent the occurrence of accidents and ill-health
So far as is reasonably practicable, this will be achieved by:
Providing and maintaining equipment and systems of work that are safe and without risk to health
Providing such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary
Implementing arrangements for ensuring safety and absence of risks to health in connection with the use, handling, storage and transportation of articles and substances
Maintaining the workplace, plant and equipment in a condition that is safe and without risks to health and the provision and maintenance of means of access to and egress from it that are safe and without risks
Providing and maintaining a working environment for employees that is safe and without risks to health and is adequate as regards facilities and arrangements for the welfare of employees at work
Assigning specific health and safety duties and responsibilities to company personnel and, where necessary, engaging the services of Competent Persons to provide specialist skills
Ensuring sufficient resource is made available to achieve this policy
The Company will also ensure that employees are made aware of and comply with their statutory duties and obligations with regard to health and safety matters. The company will seek the support and co-operation of employees and will encourage employees to adopt a questioning attitude towards the work activities they undertake.
Details of the arrangements necessary to achieve compliance are contained in the Company’s Health and Safety Manual.
The policy will be reviewed annually or as the need arises and any changes will be communicated to employees.
